4-Month Intensive Workshop: From Performing Arts to Professional Video Creation

The program is designed to transform students into multi-skilled creators, equipping them with the abilities to act in TV dramas and films, launch their own social media channels, or work as corporate professionals. Classes are held on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The curriculum is structured into three distinct monthly modules:

Month 1: Voice, Body, and Acting

Foundation: This module focuses on building foundational skills and introduces "Method Acting". Students learn the Stanislavski and Bertolt Brecht methods, exploring sensory and emotional memory. It covers the mind-body connection to build stage presence and confidence, alongside creative writing exercises for story structure and scriptwriting. Practical exercises include voice modulation, singing, stage/digital acting, and movement (contemporary dance, physical theatre, yoga, tai chi, and miming).

Month 2: Camera, Technical Knowledge, and Application: This phase shifts focus to working both in front of and behind the camera. The Method Acting component delves deeper into deep immersion techniques and psychological realism, adapting acting styles from the stage to cinematic/smartphone frames. Students are introduced to directing, learning to 

conceptualize visual storytelling, block actors, and control pacing. Secondary subjects cover scriptwriting for TV/Film and digital platforms (YouTube, Reels, TikTok), camera framing/lighting techniques, and the practical principles of screen and stage makeup. The month also includes an introduction to music genres and the use of background music.

Month 3: Production, Editing, and Professional Journey: The final month emphasizes polishing content, editing, and launching a professional career. Students engage in practical directing exercises, managing crews and actors (including non-actors) under time constraints, covering pre-production, production, and post-production phases. Technical skills are honed through video editing and sound design using software like CapCut and Premiere Pro. Crucially, the module covers "Content Creation and Auditions," teaching students how to build a personal brand, monetize personal channels, secure corporate opportunities, and succeed in TV/film auditions.

Final Projects and Opportunities: The program concludes with a final certificate project under the guidance of Lakmini Amaradewa and Sudhara Geeganage, where students are divided into groups to create a professional-level 5-minute cinematic short film. The syllabus also outlines significant post-course opportunities: 25 selected students will participate in a comedy series for social media and a 7-day practical workshop/reality show. Additionally, 10 students will be chosen from a full-time workshop to represent a "Dance Symphony" at an international cultural festival in Thailand. The document notes that all successful participants will begin receiving professional payments for acting and technical work in the academy's productions after the three-month learning period.

The syllabus also features a faculty of prominent "Guest Lecturers" (ආරාධිත දේශකයින්), including MD Mahindapala, Prof. Saumya Liyanage, Professor Wansu (from Beijing Dance Academy), Chandani Senevirathne, Gaminda Priyaviraj, Priyantha Dissanayake, Rebeka Dilrukshi, Rathna Lalani Jayakody, Malith Perise, Lasantha Udukumbura, Charitha Attalage, and Charith Welegedara. The program is under the concept and project supervision of Veteran Director and Writer Lakmini Amaradewa and Veteran Director, Editor, and Designer Sudhara Geeganage.
